Initializing the idea:
During the first exercise, we discussed together and decided the ferry trip from Slussen to Djurgården as our transportation.
As a first step we chose a target group, which is initally families travelling with children.
After an extra field study, we refined our target group to be the general leisure travellers, because there are no clear distinction between them. However, we stick to the family-friendly user content.
Field Study:
The field studies include interviews and observations. We separated into two sub-groups and interviewed the experience of the people on the ferry and sum all the feedbacks together. The main problem can be concluded as without passes information, the trip is boring for the kids, and only swedish broadcasting is inconvenient for the international travellers.
We also did the state of art analysis of the High technology interface and summed analysis together. To refelect in our project, our main aim is to improve the user experience. For our case, we can try to make a memorable, simple yet special adventure for all the ferry commuters.
Persona & Scenarios:
We created two personas and scenarios for the design process. One is from western country which can speak swedish and another is from china, with poor english skills.
We created pain points to decide important needs and opportunities related to the persona.
Design & Prototype:
We had a brainstorming session to start our process. We separate into two sub groups and discuss together and give feedbacks to each other, and the initial ideas formed in that exercise. And then we separate to do the interview again and ask for the suggestion form the travellers to improve.
Evaluation:
In the evaluation session, we present our ideas to other groups and get the feedbacks to imorove our ideas. The map sessions is useless for our prototype, we need to focus on one side and improve all design. But the mainidea is impressive to them.
Think-aloud/Feedback:
After finished the final prototype, everyone in our group did a think aloud on different users and received feedbacks. The main problem are some details need to modify. But the main ideas are popular.
